At Bellingen Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre we accept HICAPS private health insurance, providing a quick and easy way to receive your rebate after paying for a service. HICAPS works by automatically processing your claim for a rebate from health funds, Medicare, Easyclaims and WorkSafe cover.
We also provide services for people with CTP insurance claims. If you’ve been injured during a motor vehicle accident and you (or the at-fault driver) have valid CTP insurance, you’ll likely be covered by the NSW CTP scheme. By contacting the relevant insurance company, eligible claimants can apply for personal injury benefits and receive funding for rehabilitation of medical injuries.
If you’re injured at work, chances are you’ll be covered under workers compensation insurance. This is usually managed by your employer, who can make a claim on your behalf depending on the nature and circumstances of the injury. If your claim is successful, you’ll typically receive workers compensation for medical expenses and rehabilitation. We can then tailor a treatment plan to help get you back-to-work.

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
Private health insurance offers members greater choice in the provision of treatment, coverage for other services that are not included under Medicare arrangements. Private health may also provide you with a quicker time to receive treatment.
At Bellingen Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre we accept all health funds and provide HICAPS facilities for your convenience with on-the-spot transactions.
Please bring your health fund membership card on the day of your appointment for us to process your refund directly from the health fund, meaning you only have to pay the gap.
Due to the large number of health funds and insurance products, we are unable to provide exact details regarding your out-of-pocket expenses.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Physiotherapy services are available under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). If your NDIS plan is self-managed or plan-managed you can choose any qualified physiotherapist with Bellingen Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre.

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
CDM (Chronic Disease Management) is a referral/care plan between your GP & Allied Health Practitioners for management of chronic conditions. It is a Medicare rebate system to help refund part of the cost of attending a private allied health service; It is for your GP to determine your eligibility for this care plan and allocation of services.
Once you have met the criteria your GP will provide you with the necessary referral forms. This program entitles eligible patients up to 5 treatments per calendar year with a standard rebate entitlement per treatment.
The GP will determine if it is in your best interest to split between different Allied Health Services for the purposes of your best recovery and management of your injury/condition.
At Bellingen Physiotherapy after the fees are paid in full at the end of your treatment, we can then claim your Medicare benefit back for you on the spot through the Medicare/Eftpos/Hicaps. Medicare however, will not pay a refund onto a credit card. Alternatively, you can present the relevant paperwork to Medicare for claiming of the Physiotherapy services.

WORKERS COMPENSATION
We treat all WorkCover and Motor Vehicle accident injuries.
If you are claiming through WorkCover, you will need to have your injury certified by a doctor before you can claim treatment costs for physiotherapy.
On your initial visit please bring your Claim number, Doctor’s referral plus your workplace details to the first appointment in order for us to invoice your WorkCover Agent.
If you are suffering from a work-related issue, you should speak to someone at your workplace and lodge a WorkCover Claim
Treatment incorporates evidence-based exercise, education and CBT strategies in the rehabilitation of injured workers. With a strong return to work focus, the intervention combines physical, behavioural and educational interventions.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING ASSESSMENT
Pre-employment screening has become a standard Risk Management strategy for progressive organisations aiming to reduce workplace injuries and minimise workers compensation premiums.

CTP eligible claimants can apply for personal injury benefits and receive funding for rehabilitation of medical injuries through their relevant insurance company.

Motor Vehicle Accident CTP Insurance (MVA) is where if someone is injured during an accident that you will be covered by the NSW
CTP scheme and can submit a claim. This includes drivers and passengers, motorcycle riders and passengers, cyclists and pedestrians.
To start the claim it is necessary to find out who your CTP insurer is. Youwill then need to apply for personal injury benefits; this will give you weekly support payments and coverage for medical injuries. You may also be entitled to a number of different funding including:

At Bellingen Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre, we welcome patient referrals through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) program. If you currently serve in the Australian Defence Force, or are a retired veteran, you may be eligible for treatment through this program.
Physiotherapy can help with a range of issues associated with prolonged work in the armed forces including:
- Chronic health conditions
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Post-op discomfort
- Arthritis
To be eligible to receive treatment from us under the DVA program you’ll need to provide a referral from your GP or specialist and your DVA GOLD CARD (Repatriation Health Card – For All Conditions) or WHITE CARD (Repatriation Health Card – For Specific Conditions) on your first visit.
We offer bulk billing for eligible recipients, meaning you won’t incur any out-of-pocket expenses.

Medicare Chronic Disease Management
If you have a chronic medical condition (conditions that have or are expected to last more than 12-months), you’ll likely be eligible for a GP Management Plan to manage your condition; this will allow you to access Medicare rebates for certain allied health services – such as physiotherapy. Speak with your GP for eligibility and to set up your plan.
To book a treatment with us under a GP Management Plan, simply provide us with a copy of the plan and your doctors referral (if applicable).
